About the authors

Rob and Ed are both well-respected scatological-geographical-etymologists, with a specialism in UK names.

Rob Bailey, a well-respected scatological-geographical-etymologist

Rob Bailey spent his formative years in the village of Cumnor, Oxfordshire, where the family home rested peacefully upon the hill known as Tumbledown Dick. He lives in Oxford with a small family of guitars.

Ed Hurst, a well-respected scatological-geographical-etymologist

Ed Hurst, in common with Isaac Newton, was born in the Lincolnshire town of Grantham. His blend of pompous, puerile verbosity has helped him to establish himself as a management consultant.

He is also an established photographer, accepting commissions that encompass portraiture, wedding photography, transport, landscapes, corporate projects and abstract, conceptual art.  Ed can be contacted through his website, where some of his work can also be seen
